GRASP participated in the ATARRI 1st Training School, held from 29 June to 1 July 2026 at the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, Cyprus. Organised by the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, the training school focused on atmospheric science, remote sensing, and climate applications.
During the second day of the programme, Anton Lopain, Scientific Officer at GRASP Earth, delivered the sessions on Aerosol Retrievals and Advanced Remote Sensing Applications. The lectures introduced participants to aerosol retrieval methodologies and the use of the GRASP algorithm for retrieving aerosol properties from remote sensing observations, combining theoretical background with practical examples.
The training school is one of the activities of the ATARRI project, a Horizon Europe initiative that aims to strengthen research and innovation capacity in atmospheric remote sensing and modelling through knowledge transfer, training, and collaboration among its partner institutions. The project supports the development of advanced Earth observation capabilities for atmospheric and climate research in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
