





The 9th Iberian Meeting on Aerosol Science and Technology (RICTA 2026) brought together last week researchers from across Spain, Portugal and beyond, to discuss the latest advances and applications in the field.
Organized by the Atmospheric Optics Group (GOA) at the Universidad de Valladolid, the conference featured several contributions from GRASP Earth, including:
• David Fuertes – Global Aerosol Monitoring through the GAPMAP Multi-Angle Polarimeter Constellation.
• Fernando Rejano – Microphysical retrievals of wildfire aerosols from polar imaging nephelometry using GRASP.
• Marcos Herreras-Giralda – Combined retrieval of XCO₂, XCH₄ and aerosol properties from SWIR spectrometric and multi-angle polarimetric measurements with GRASP algorithm.
• Leonor Martin – Methodology for PMx estimations from optical properties using GRASP.
Also, Oleg Dubovik (CNRS research director; but also GRASP co-founder and scientific consultant) gave the Keynote Talk entitled: ‘GRASP retrieval concept: Achievements and Challenges in aerosol remote sensing’.
