Would you like to explore how atmospheric aerosols influence the light measured from the ground?
On the occasion of World Environment Day, we present a new interactive experiment developed within GRASP Labs initiative:
the Sun-Photometer experiment.
This experiment introduces the principles of Sun-Photometry, a remote sensing technique used to characterize atmospheric aerosols through measurements of direct solar irradiance and diffuse sky radiance. Inspired by global observation networks such as AERONET and the CIMEL reference CE-318 Sun Photometer, the simulator reproduces the forward modeling process used in ground-based atmospheric observations for climate research and satellite validation.
