Join us for the GRASP-Earth webinar this Wednesday, May 7th, to delve into the pivotal role of nephelometers in air quality research and regulatory monitoring. These instruments have been a cornerstone in the ACTRIS network, ensuring precise measurements of atmospheric aerosols.
Despite their extensive history, interpreting nephelometer data poses challenges even for seasoned researchers. In this session, we will explore the fundamental principles behind nephelometer measurements, shed light on the data’s insights and limitations, and discuss the critical factors influencing measurement accuracy and data integrity.
To illustrate the measurement techniques and date examples we will use our AirPhoton IN101 nephelometer. This instrument is whitelisted for use within ACTRIS, deployed globally by the SPARTAN network, and widely utilized by research institutions in India. We will also introduce the GRASP retrieval software, enhancing particle characterization by providing size distribution estimates and dry particulate mass using advanced nephelometer models.
