The International Radiation Symposium (IRS) 2024 took place this week in the city of Hangzhou, China. Organized by the School of Earth Sciences at Zhejiang University and overseen by the International Radiation Commission (IRC) of IAMAS, the event provided a global platform for sharing the latest advancements in atmospheric radiation research and technology.

Scientists, researchers, and students from around the world convened to discuss pressing scientific issues, exchange innovative ideas, and forge collaborative partnerships. The symposium featured numerous presentations where attendees showcased their latest findings, contributing to the collective understanding of radiation science.

In addition to the scientific sessions, participants had the opportunity to experience Hangzhou’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. Highlights included visits to the iconic West Lake and sampling local delicacies, offering a well-rounded experience that blended professional growth with cultural immersion.

Our colleagues, Anton Lopatin and Li Chong, delivered insightful presentations during the symposium, highlighting significant contributions to the field. Their participation underscored the event’s role in deepening our understanding of radiation science and fostering meaningful connections within the global scientific community.

The IRS 2024 has once again proven to be an excellent opportunity for advancing radiation research and building lasting international collaborations. We look forward to future gatherings that continue to push the boundaries of scientific knowledge and innovation.
