THE STAKES
Atmosphere composition: vital for Climate and Health
The Earth’s atmosphere includes aerosols, gases, and clouds that have critical impacts on climate, human health, risk prevention, and economic sectors. In particular, aerosols play a pivotal role, influencing air quality, climate change, meteorology, and Earth Observation services. There is an urgent need for accurate, real-time, and actionable data on atmospheric composition to address climate change, air quality, and environmental policies effectively.
THE CHALLENGE
Multi-scale observations, powerful processing
Comprehensive atmospheric monitoring―from local to global scales and from surface to vertical dimensions―demands seamless integration of ground-based and satellite-borne observations combined with cutting-edge synergistic processing. Such a holistic approach is key to providing scientifically validated actionnable insights: maps, vertical profiles, forecasts, and reanalyses.
THE ALLIANCE
Building a NewSpace leader for next-generation atmospheric data
Building on decades of shared history, GRASP Earth and CIMEL have formed a natural strategic alliance to lead atmospheric monitoring through a NewSpace strategy. It merges CIMEL’s ground instruments with GRASP’s satellite polarimetry and data processing pipelines. This end-to-end approach―from payload and ground instrument manufacturing to the delivery of applicative products―provides our worldwide customers with turnkey solutions, ensuring autonomy in Earth Observation and environmental monitoring.
